It didn't take long before Blue Note picked up on the growing talent of the 8-string guitarist after the release of the first Charlie Hunter Trio record and signed him to their prestigious jazz label. The cover is modeled after a Horace Parlan album on Blue Note from 1960 called Speakin' My Piece. Why did Hunter title his record Bing, Bing, Bing? Charlie responds with a grin, "I don't have any idea. We just like the sound of the word, 'bing'."
