1966 Fender Mustang Songbook Vol. 2 Day (Compact Disc)
Day is the medium and uptempo side of the 1966 Fender Mustang Songbook. Recorded live over a two-day period at Bobby Previte’s studio in New York’s Hudson Valley, it features Charlie on his 1966 Fender Mustang, Bobby on drums, and Dave Hofstra on Fender bass with flats. This volume leans into swing, groove, and drive, with classics like “On the Sunny Side of the Street,” “It’s Only a Paper Moon,” and “Night Train.” Most takes are first or second passes and no overdubs. Drums, Fender Bass with flatwound strings and a Fender Mustang with flats through some reverb and tremolo. A complete meal of mid-century technological advancement.
